Adult clients that struggle with weight, food issues, or being diagnosed with a recent medical condition that requires behavioral change can increase or create a cycle of preoccupation, shame, hopelessness, or helplessness. These issues can then increase or begin an emotional battle with self-worth, anxiety, depression, or eating disorders.
Within the therapeutic process, we use many different strategies grouped into four phases to help break the cycle and create new skills and tools to help in every day life challenges. We will spend time learning about the root of the problem, challenging our thoughts, learning emotional regulation skills instead of using food to soothe, self compassion skills, attuned eating, boundaries, and more depending on the needs of each client.
